What It Is

QUALIFICATIONS THAT
SAVE LIVES.

Mental Health First Aid is the mental health equivalent of physical first aid. It trains people to recognise the signs of mental health issues, have a supportive conversation and guide someone to the right help.

Danny is a fully accredited Mental Health First Aid England instructor — which means the qualification your people receive is official, credible and nationally recognised. MHFA First Aiders are now a standard expectation in responsible UK organisations.

What makes Danny's MHFA training different from every other provider is simple: he has been the person who needed a Mental Health First Aider. He knows what that moment feels like from the inside. He knows what the right response looks like — and what the wrong one does.

The two-day course qualifies up to 16 participants as certified Mental Health First Aiders. It covers the full MHFA England curriculum — delivered with the authenticity and authority of someone who has spent 15 years working at the sharp end of mental health in the real world.

Common Concerns

QUESTIONS WE
HEAR A LOT.

MHFA training is a genuine investment. Here are honest answers to the questions organisations ask most.

How is this different from other MHFA providers?

The curriculum is the same — it's accredited. What's different is Danny. His lived experience and 15 years of practical work make the material stick in a way a clinical instructor in a classroom simply can't replicate.

Do we need MHFA when we have an EAP?

An Employee Assistance Programme and qualified MHFAs serve completely different functions. EAPs are reactive. MHFAs are proactive — the first line of recognition and support before crisis hits.

Is the certificate officially recognised?

Yes. It's issued by Mental Health First Aid England — the national body for MHFA training in the UK. The same certification is recognised by employers across every sector.

Can we train multiple groups?

Yes. Danny can run consecutive two-day courses to train multiple groups. We'll work with you on scheduling to minimise operational disruption.

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS.

Is MHFA training a legal requirement?+

Not yet — but it is increasingly expected. Many industries, contracts and procurement frameworks now require organisations to have qualified MHFAs in place.

How many people can attend at once?+

Up to 16 per course. The MHFA England limit is set to ensure quality of learning and the depth of practice needed for a genuine qualification.

How long does the MHFA certificate last?+

The certificate is valid for three years. An annual refresher is recommended to keep skills sharp and confidence high between renewals.

Do participants need any prior knowledge?+

No prior knowledge is required. The course is designed for anyone — from HR directors and managers to site supervisors and support workers.

Can the course be delivered at our premises?+

Yes. Danny travels to you. You just need a suitable training room for up to 16 people.

What's the difference between MHFA training and an MHFA refresher?+

The two-day course is for people who have never qualified before. The half-day refresher is for existing MHFAs who want to renew and strengthen their skills annually.
